How do i get a X-Ray for IME?
Initially, your designated panel physician will furnish you with a requisition form, which you should retain. It is noteworthy that scheduling an appointment for your x-ray is unnecessary.
What happens during the chest X-Ray for IME?
Firstly, upon arrival at the laboratory, you will be required to present your requisition form, IME number, and a government-issued identification document. It is crucial to note that the radiologist will scrutinize the x-ray images for indications of both active and inactive tuberculosis disease.
During the x-ray procedure, you will be asked to remove all jewelry, eyeglasses, body piercings, or any metal objects on your body. Additionally, if you have an implanted device, such as a heart valve or pacemaker, kindly inform the doctor. You will also be required to undress from the waist up and will be provided with a hospital gown to wear during the exam. It is important to note that you will not be asked to be nude for the examination.
Subsequently, the panel radiologist will forward your results to eMedical, and there will be no need for you to collect any documents.
Lastly, it is important to be aware that x-rays emit small amounts of radiation. Therefore, kindly inform your panel physician if you are pregnant.

There are several options available for pregnant women, including wearing a protective shield during the x-ray procedure.
